Happy New Year!!
We started out on Monday a little tired but happy to see each other!! Your kids are GREAT! We laugh everyday!
Look at these smiling faces.... this was taken before the break, maybe that is why they are so smiley!
We did have a busy December with the band concert, the field trip to the Museum of Regiments, a Winter Masquerade Dance and delivering food to Santa's Anonymous that was collected from the Dance and the Hopes and Dreams campaign. We also had our Carol sing and Ugly Sweater Day! Many of your kids also helped with the candy cane grams during that last week of school in December. We sold 2005 candy canes! Half of the proceeds went to Santa's Anonymous and the other half to the Me to We Club.
Many of your kids were involved with the Dance Committee did an excellent job of advertising, making decorations and transforming the gym into a Winter Wonderland! Thanks to the committee for all of your work to make the dance so successful!
We have a busy and exciting month ahead with preparing for and delivering speeches on a topic of their choice. The speeches will be 2-5 minutes long and of the student's choice. We have discussed using props or visuals to enhance their speech. We also have a guest speaker who will be teaching the students about vocal clarity.
Students are also engaged and focused on reading their books and preparing their project called, "A Book in a Container".
Students will also be preparing a midterm project based on the Renaissance.
We are also very excited about our upcoming ski trip in early February. Watch for permission forms to be coming home soon.
